Dunkirk City SD students take a peek as construction moves forward

Phase 1 of Dunkirk City School District's 2024 Capital Improvement Project is a little more than halfway through its construction. This phase consists of 2 additions: a STEAM classroom and an administration building, as well as renovations to the existing main office, and repurposing existing classroom space into a new food storage area. The food storage area will include 2 walk-in coolers and a walk-in freezer.

With consideration to the District's need for food storage, as they are currently renting a storage container, Campus was able to expedite the schedule to get the food storage area to 80% completion prior to the end of Spring Break. The food service coolers and freezer will be online and operational by the second week of April, allowing the District to return the cold storage rental 4 months early.

The main office addition is weathered in, with interior starting next week. The STEAM addition has Hunter Panels installed and is waiting on the painter to start the interiors.

Students from six of the District's Tech classes were provided a tour of each building by Campus personnel. They asked great questions about the different building components and what it takes to work in the industry.
