Lake Shore CSD Team Leads a Day of Student Learning on Site
Campus Team Leads Tech Class Site Tours and Job Shadow
Last week, the Lake Shore CSD's Director of Facilities & Tech Teacher reached out to Campus to coordinate job site tours and align Tech class lessons with ongoing fieldwork. For example, as Campus prepares an upcoming concrete pour, the team shared project drawings for classroom review. The team then hosted a job site tour, allowing students to see and understand those details in real-world context. As bleacher installation begins, the Tech class will shift its focus to metals and related applications.
A 10th grade member of the Business Academy spent time shadowing the Campus team as well. He captured his experience with the Campus team in an email that you can read below.
"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to job shadow your construction management team. I really appreciated being able to see how projects are planned, coordinated, and managed from start to finish.
It was especially interesting to learn how construction managers oversee scheduling, budgeting, and communication between different teams to keep a project on track. Seeing how you handle problem-solving, decision-making, and site coordination gave me a much better understanding of what goes into managing a successful construction project.
I’m grateful for the time you and your team took to walk me through the process and answer my questions. This experience has made me more interested in construction management and helped me better understand the skills needed in this field.
Thank you again for your time and support."
