Batavia City School District Celebrates New Multi-Sport Turf Field

On Monday evening, the Batavia City School District (BCSD) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new synthetic athletic turf field, which is part of the district's $45 million capital project. The new multi-sport field will host games for baseball, softball, and soccer. 

BCSD Board of Education Vice President Korrine Anderson said that the new facility “marks an important milestone for the District and community and represents an investment in our students, our commitment to their growth and well-being, and a shared vision for the future.” Anderson went on to say that athletics is more than just competitions. “They provide students with the opportunities to challenge themselves, build confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime.” 

While the ribbon-cutting was held on Monday, BCSD Athletic Director Joel Reed has already received positive feedback. The soccer season is already underway and both soccer players and visitors alike have showed enthusiasm for the new field. Reed is thankful that BCSD has new fields to be proud of and that which other communities can envy.
